Waxing lyrical for Daisy Chain

Irene Gard so enjoyed her day at the Summer Fayre at Norton Hall where they were raising funds for Daisy Chain that she has written a poem. We hope you like it
Daisy Chain
Brian and I went to a Charity Event
Being held at Norton Hall
They were trying to raise funds for Daisy Chain
A very worthy cause
They had some lovely fresh cream scones
To go with your coffee or tea
What does it matter if just for once
We forget about calories
As we were both walking around
We met two friends of ours, Audrey and Jean
I asked Brian how he came to know them
He said, "as kids we played on Norton Green"
Edna, another friend of ours was there
And lots of other people that we knew
My dear friend Sandra that I've known for years
And some of our neighbours had come too
It is lovely to have such dedicated people
Who care for the children's needs
And are also there to give their support
To the children's families
Daisy Chain is a very special place
You feel surrounded by love when you are there
And Dear Lesley, now that your dreams have been fulfilled
It's a little piece of heaven here on earth
So a big thank you to Daisy Chain
And for all the hard work that you do
The world would be a much better place
If there were more people in it like you
Mrs Irene Gard
