A four man team have cycled from coast to coast to raise much needed funds for Daisy Chain, a haven for families affected by the autism in the Tees Valley.
Vince Burns MD at nrg4business, Richard Harmer MD of Charter Self Drive, Russell Croisdale MD at Encore Envelopes along with Matt Simpson, Daisy Chain Chief Executive cycled from Whitehaven in Cumbria to Sunderland, a total of 136 miles over three days.
Matt Simpson, Daisy Chain Chief Executive, said: “This was a great challenge and we all enjoyed it hugely. Vince, Richard and Russell are supporters of Daisy Chain and I am personally delighted that they decided to take part in this challenge and raise funds for Daisy Chain.”
Mike Clark, Chair of the Vela Housing Group, completed a Dawn to Dusk Coast to Coast making the journey in a single day in just over 14 hours, a mammoth feat. Daisy Chain is the Vela Chairman’s Charity of the Year and this event was the first of many going on throughout the year.
Daisy Chain is a unique charity that addresses the needs of children on the autistic spectrum and their families. The charity provides a range of services, including support and activity groups for the whole family from our 5.5 acre farm in Norton. Daisy Chain receives no formal funding and relies on the support of business, the community and individuals.
