Time after time we are made speechless by the lengths our fearless fund raisers go to on our behalf. We’ve sometimes joked that they’d jump off a bridge if we asked them to….well, this group did just that.
We were looking for volunteers to abseil from the Transporter Bridge in Middlesbrough and we were overwhelmed with people who wanted to take part.
In the end, thirty-five people gathered at the Teesside landmark on the 9th of September.

There were teams representing Abbey Hill Special School in Stockton, Endeavour Housing Association in Stockton, our old friends at Durham Lane School in Eaglescliffe, Odyssey from Preston Farm Industrial Estate, and, once again Barclaycard – we can’t keep these people down!
Not one of them flinched when asked to climb the 210 steps to the top of the bridge before abseiling 225 feet through fresh air back to terra firma.
Thanks to you lot we raised about £3,000 on the day.
We can’t thank them enough for their courage and the money they raised for us.
