A GROUP of schoolchildren met all creatures great and small on a return trip to their favourite farmyard.

The youngsters from Durham Lane School in Eaglescliffe last visited Daisy Chain in Norton a year ago. Durham Lane School’s speech and language unit regularly works with autistic children, strong links have been forged between the two.

The children were invited to view the developments at the farm and greet the new animals, including pigs, sheep and a donkey.

A spokesman for the charity said: “Among the new facilities is a maze which featured in a series of races but, as usual, it was the array of animals at Calf Fallow Farm that proved the biggest attraction!”
