Payroll Giving
What is payroll giving?
Payroll Giving is a simple, tax effective way of allowing you to donate to Daisy Chain directly from your salary.
How does it work?
If your employer offers payroll giving you simply authorise them to deduct regular donations from your pay.
What are the benefits for Daisy Chain and you?
By using Payroll Giving our administration costs are minimised and regular donations make it possible for us to plan for future developments.
When you make a donation through a Payroll Giving Scheme the amount is deducted from your pay before tax is deducted. This means that you are given tax relief on your donation immediately.
The table below shows how much more Daisy Chain gets through Payroll Giving:
| Donation made |
Actual Amount |
|
| 20% Tax Rate | £10 | £8 |
| 40% Tax Rate | £10 | £6 |
| 50% Tax Rate | £10 | £5 |
How do I set it up?
You need to ask your employer's payroll department whether they have a scheme and if they do fill in the appropriate paper work. If your employer does not have a scheme you can suggest that they set one up.
What does my employer have to do?
If your employer has a scheme they will be able to process your request. If they do not, the Guide to Payroll Giving on the HMRC website, explains how Payroll Giving works, who covers the costs, and what they have to do as an employer to set up a Payroll Giving Scheme for employees. People who receive their company/personal pension through PAYE (Pay As You Earn) can participate too.
