I wanted to start by introducing myself. My name is Jennifer Hewitt and I am the new Head of Services and Learning here at Daisy Chain. I have dedicated my entire career to working with families affected by autism and have just returned from nearly ten years in America working for a charity that provided equine therapy and outdoor learning opportunities to autism families.

I came into position at Daisy Chain in early April this year and one of the first things that struck me was the dedication that the organisation as a whole shows to the families and young people that access its services, and also the appreciation and affection that those families and individuals show in return. It truly is an honour to be working for what has been described as one of Teesside’s “best-loved charities.”

Now that I am settled in and have learnt everyone’s name and where to find the staples, I am keen to get started on ensuring that we continue to run our current services to the best of our ability and develop new services in line with what you, the families and young people that access Daisy Chain, actually need. The individuals that access our services are the reason that we are here and we want to make sure that we are providing you with the services and support that you need most.
