Hours: 24 hours per week (permanent)

Salary: £9,792 - £11,424 per annum

Daisy Chain is a well-known and established charity in Tees Valley specialising in helping families affected by autism. We believe that Daisy Chain makes a demonstrable, significant and sustainable difference to the lives of hundreds of families across the Tees Valley.

The post holder will encourage, inspire and support the personal development of people with Autism and related conditions. They will support the delivery of Daisy Chain’s Services, in line with Daisy Chain’s core values. Due to the nature of this role the post holder will be required to work during the evening, and weekends and will require a DBS enhanced check.

 Key tasks of this role include (but are not limited to):

  • Initiate, develop and maintain positive relationships with families and young people/adults affected by autism, in order to identify the key issues which are relevant to them
  • Mentor, coach and support individuals to facilitate personal, social and educational growth
  • Support programmes of work to children/young people/adults
  • Support the delivery of a Social Club, ensuring that it meets with criteria set by Daisy Chain and relevant outside organisations
  • Work in ways, which promote equality of opportunity, participation and responsibility
  • Participate in social, recreational and therapeutic activities as required
  • Work in partnership with parents/carers and professionals from other organisations to support young people
  • Maintain effective and accurate recording and reporting systems in line with Daisy Chain’s procedures
  • Undertake administrative tasks as required
  • Share idea’s to improve services and/or resources for children/young people/adults

If you have proven experience of working within the care sector, experience of working with children and young people then you could be the person that we are looking for.
