Here at Daisy Chain, we are thrilled to have been successful in our application for funding from Children in Need for children’s trips during the school holidays for the next 3 years.
These trips will be fully funded for the children including any entry fees and transport, meaning that we can facilitate these trips at no cost to families. Each of these trips will be fully staff supported and provide valuable respite to parents/carers during the holidays. Unfortunately, no one-to-one support will be available.
These trips are an addition to our Family Trips we currently run on a Friday during the school holidays – as ever, we are continuing to look for funding for these trips to make them as affordable as possible for our families. We have confirmed we will be running a minimum of two family trips during the summer holidays and one during the Christmas break – details will be confirmed nearer the time.
For each trip, there will be specific access criteria presented as part of the online booking process. When booking your child onto a trip we would ask that you review these criteria to ensure that the trip will be suitable for your child. We will be providing a range of different trips throughout the year to suit a variety of ages, interests and support needs.
We will be accepting registrations of interest via our website. From the expression of interest, we will be selecting 15 children at random to access this trip, using an online generator (of which the selection process will be captured).
In addition to the children’s trips, this funding will also enable us to run the following activities:
- additional high needs sessions during each school holiday (one per holiday week);
- three residential trips (one during the Easter holidays and two over the summer) – more information to follow.
Initially the following three activities have been arranged for February Half Term and more will be arranged in the future.
