About us Our facilities Day Centre Our unique £1m day centre was opened in 2010, the first comprehensive support facility that provides holistic support to children with autism and their families in the UK. The centre is used by children on the autism spectrum and provides a fantastic facility for us to offer short-term respite services. This allows parents and carers to participate in support groups, activities or just have a well-earned break while their children are being cared for in our day centre. This support is vital to enable families to maintain their well-being and family life through the strains that can be evident when looking after a child with autism. Facilities within the day centre include: Soft play area Ever popular with our children and allows us to offer this fantastic fun activity at many of our groups and clubs. Sensory rooms If any of our children find a situation too overwhelming, feel anxious or just need a moment away from others, our two sensory rooms offer a relaxing environment to allow them to reduce their anxiety and have a safe area to retreat to. Art and craft room Lots of fun craft activities take place in this room, including mask making, painting, and other special activities planned by our Care Team for our children to enjoy. IT suite We have a number of computers in our IT suite that our children can use for educational purposes or to enjoy a game of Minecraft! Meeting Rooms We have two meeting rooms at the Day Centre - our Conference Room and Room With a View. These lend themselves perfectly for additional activities for our children, but are also available to local businesses to hire out for their own meetings.
