The centre is used by autistic children, adults and their families and provides a fantastic facility for us to offer our frontline autism services. It allows parents and carers to participate in support groups, activities or just have a break while their young people are being cared for in our day centre.
Facilities within the day centre include:
Soft play area
Ever popular with our children and allows us to offer this fantastic fun activity at many of our groups and clubs.
Sensory rooms
If any of our children find a situation too overwhelming, feel anxious or just need a moment away from others, our two sensory rooms offer a relaxing environment to allow them to reduce their anxiety and have a safe area to retreat to.
Our state-of-the-art sensory suite is equipped with cutting-edge, interactive sensory equipment including an interactive floor, immersive projectors and interactive games which allow children to engage and explore the environment in new and innovative ways. The suite was opened in 2019 thanks to a generous donation from the Finlay Cooper Fund.
Art and craft room
Lots of fun craft activities take place in this room, including mask making, painting, and other special activities planned by our care team for our children to enjoy.
Meeting Room
We have a meeting room at the Day Centre – our Conference Room. This lends itself perfectly for additional activities for our young people and adults, but is also available to local businesses to hire out for their own meetings. For more information on our room hire facilities, click here.
