Job Brief Daisy Chain Project are looking looking for a talented individual who is passionate about workplace inclusion and equality for autistic and neurodiverse adults to take a lead role in the development, growth and expansion of our existing employability service. We are looking for someone with passion, tenacity and drive who can develop our offer to become the leading specialist autism employability service in the Tees Valley. The post holder will work with the Head of Adult Services to set and deliver the strategic priorities for Employability and drive service innovation and development. They will take a lead role in developing and maintaining a wide range of high quality and purposeful partnerships with external organisations in order to continually enhance the Daisy Chain employability offer, develop effective referral streams and establish the service within the community. They will promote paid work for autistic people and establish meaningful and progressive employability-based outcomes for service users. Key Tasks Management Work with the Head of Adult Services to set the strategic priorities for the growth, development and enhancement of the existing Employability Service and to drive service innovation and development Establish partnership links with a variety of relevant statutory bodies and organisations (including Job Centre Plus) across the Tees Valley, to generate plentiful and effective beneficiary referral streams into the service. To work with the Head of Adult Services and Daisy Chain’s PR and Communications Team in order to promote the Employability Service through social media, networking and press. Actively pursue, generate and maintain effective and beneficial partnerships with a large network of external stakeholder organisations and businesses in order to create a wide range of external work experience, training, volunteering and paid work opportunities for autistic adults. Provide bespoke training and support packages to employers, enabling them to become more confident in recruiting and supporting autistic employees and providing them with access to a pool of uniquely talented autistic placements and prospective employees. To ensure that impactful, meaningful and progressive outcomes and opportunities are achieved for beneficiaries across the entirety of the Employability Service, including paid employment, independent volunteering and training. With support and guidance from line manager, take a lead role in the management of employability projects, including budget management, achievement of targets and outcomes. Line manage a small team, taking oversite of all activities within the Employability department, ensuring appropriate caseloads, and carrying out ongoing quality assurance in order to guarantee exceptionally high standards of service delivery and outcomes. Establish an effective system for recording team data in relation to caseloads, support activities, targets and outcomes and provide data, statistics and reports to senior management on request. Work with the Head of Adult Services and Head of HR to ensure that reasonable adjustments and approaches are consistently embedded throughout Daisy Chain’s environment, culture, ethos and processes in order to ensure the inclusion, wellbeing and empowerment of autistic colleagues. Ensure that all data held by the employability service is GDPR compliant Take a lead role in the safeguarding of vulnerable adults, ensuring that best practice is adhered to at all times. Ensure current and up to date knowledge of developments in Autism and Employability regionally, nationally and internationally. To liaise with the Volunteer Development Manager to ensure appropriate volunteer support for employability services, as needed. Operational To adopt a person-centred, empowerment and outcome focussed approach whilst working with service users – supporting them to set and achieve personalised and realistic employability goals. Following a suitable assessment and triage process, place service users into work placement opportunities which are related to their career goals and needs. Ensure the success of work placements for both service users and businesses by providing a supported induction and an ongoing, bespoke support package including the delivery of training, resources, support with reasonable adjustments and specific employability skills guidance (e.g. CV writing, interview skills, communications skills, etc.). To meet, and exceed, performance targets and to evidence caseloads and service user outcomes using agreed documentation and processes. To respond appropriately and carry out the correct procedures if service users make a disclosure that causes concern for their safety/wellbeing. To initiate, develop and maintain positive relationships with autistic adults and their families. Maintain an up to date knowledge of developments in autism and neurodevelopmental disorders, including effective strategies, resources and techniques. Provide cover for staff within the team when necessary. To work within Daisy Chain’s policies and procedures and abide by health and safety guidelines. Undertake administrative tasks necessary, in line with Daisy Chain procedures, for the efficient and effective delivery of the key responsibilities in this role.
