- We will support you to complete a detailed ‘vocational profile’ which will identify your strengths, support needs and career goals in relation to paid employment, training, and volunteering.
- We will work with you to develop a personalised ‘steps to employment plan’
You will have regular 121 appointments with your employability coach, who will boost your confidence and skills while you progress through your ‘Steps to Employment’ plan.
121 coaching sessions include:
- CV writing skills
- CV enhancement
- Searching and applying for paid work, volunteering, and training opportunities
- Interview skills and preparation
We run a range of workshops covering a variety of skills and themes, including:
- Self-care and wellbeing at work
- Understanding your inclusion and equality rights
- “Walk in my shoes” – inspirational talks from autistic adults who have found employment
- Benefits advice
- Independent living skills – home routines and preparing for the workday
- Retail and customer service
Workshops can also include practical workplace experiences within other organisations, such as:
- Industry tours
- “Day in the life” experiences
- Mock interview practice
We provide a range of practical work placement opportunities both within our own Daisy Chain departments and in external businesses and organisations.
Work placements include:
- You will be matched to a role/organisation that is specifically linked to your skills, aspirations and ‘steps to employment’ plan
- You will be assigned to a mentor within the business/organisation
- We will support you to complete a ‘workplace passport’ to ensure that your mentor has full understanding of your key strengths and the support strategies and reasonable adjustments that will assist you to thrive
- Our employability staff will provide training to your mentor and the immediate team, focussing on how to support an autistic individual within the workplace
- You will be prepared for your work placement through 121 coaching and targeted training
- You will be provided with a supported induction into your placement, with ongoing 121 coaching
