Daisy Chain are delivering a free virtual workshop series on behalf of the Accelerator Programme for education professionals who support children and young people with (or who display characteristics of) autism. The series is designed to enable practitioners to develop their knowledge and understanding of good autism practice as well as to better support pupils who have returned or are due to return back to school after the COVID-19 pandemic.

The workshop series will consist of six two-hour sessions which will be delivered virtually via Microsoft teams. The sessions will be interactive and there will be opportunities throughout each session to participate in practical activities and question and answer sessions. Delegates must commit to attend all six sessions and will receive an accredited certificate in Good Autism Practice through the Autism Education Trust at the end of the series.

The Workshop Series will cover the following topics:

  1. A unique child
  2. Positive relationships
  3. Enabling environments
  4. Learning & development
  5. Practical Strategies
  6. Transitioning Back to School and COVID-19 support

About Daisy Chain

Daisy Chain Project provides services and support to children, young people, adults and families affected by autism and other neurodiversities from our purpose-built centre in Stockton-on-Tees. In addition, Daisy Chain also runs a full and varied training program for parents and professionals.

About the Autism Education Trust

Established and supported by the Department for Education the Autism Education Trust’s (AET’s) mission is to improve educational access, experience and outcomes for children and young people with autism through the production of a series of training packages developed at a national level but delivered locally through partnerships with organisations such as ours. As part of this workshop series we will incorporate the four themes of the AET’s good autism practice training which is designed for practitioners working with school aged pupils and which will allow all delegates to receive an accredited certificate and access to a wealth of resources at the end of this workshop series.
