The good autism practice training has been designed to support all practitioners working directly with children on the autism spectrum to develop their practice. 

This module is split into two courses - good autism practice (1 day course) and extended and enhanced good autism practice (half day course). 

Module 2 - good autism practice

The aims of the course are:

  • enabling practitioners to develop their knowledge and understanding of good autism practice
  • providing guidelines and activities to help practitioners to improve their practice when caring for or working with a child on the autism spectrum
  • introducing practitioners to the early years autism competency framework to evaluate and develop how they work

Module 2 - extended and enhanced good autism practice

This training is only available to those who have attended the module 2 - good autism practice training.

The aims of the course are:

  • enabling practitioners to extend and enhance their knowledge and understanding of good autism practice
  • enable practitioners to reflect on their own practice and share this more widely across settings or with partners, i.e. families and other professionals 
  • develop practitioners' understanding of the graduated approach and how this can support children on the autism spectrum
