A Teesside-based charity, well known for supporting autistic and neurodivergent individuals is set to celebrate a milestone birthday and plans to do it in style.
Daisy Chain, which is based in Norton but extends its outreach services to the whole of the North East has supported thousands of children, young people and adults since it was founded in 2003.
This year the charity is ready to make a song and a dance as they go all out to celebrate their 20th birthday at their biggest Summer Ball to date, which will be held at Wynyard Hall on Saturday 1st July. No ball is complete without a fairy godmother making the magic happen and this year’s headline sponsor is Darlington Building Society. The Society has generously donated £7,000 as part of its 5% Pledge to contribute a percentage of its profits to local good causes.
Cara Baumann, Corporate Partnerships and Events Manager said: “This is the biggest ball we’ve ever hosted – we’re looking forward to making it a spectacular night to celebrate our 20th Birthday. We’re incredibly grateful to Darlington Building Society for continuing to support the work we do and particularly this year, by helping us to organise a showstopping event which will hopefully raise further funds for the charity.”
Guests can expect an evening of carnival-themed entertainment, as well as a delicious three-course meal. Funds raised on the evening will allow the charity to invest in its frontline services and its therapy centre in Norton which helps over 5,000 autistic and neurodiverse individuals with respite care, social clubs, performing arts, wellbeing and employability each year.
