“An organisation which helps [autistic and neurodivergent people] has been named North East Charity of the Year.

“Stockton-based Daisy Chain, which recently celebrated its 20th anniversary, won the top prize at the North East Charity Awards, an event run by The Journal and our sister paper on Teesside, The Gazette, to celebrate the best of the region’s voluntary sector.

“Judges praised the support Daisy Chain has given to thousands of neurodivergent individuals and their families through employment opportunities, social clubs, respite care, independent living support, counselling and more. The group beat Hospitality and Hope, Recovery Connections and The Halo Project to take the Charity of the Year prize.”
