Daisy Chain service users visited the Tynemouth Aquarium during February half term, thanks to funding from BBC Children in Need.

The group visited the underwater world which was a fascinating place, home to tens of thousands of creatures, before wandering through the aquarium to meet species from all over the world, including the tropical waters of the Caribbean and the UK’s native shores.

They also visited the brand new exhibit; River Giants, which brought the children face to face with some giant fish, and were given the opportunity to meet real-life rockpool creatures in an interactive, hands-on workshop experience.

The trip gave the group the opportunity to improve their independent life skills and engage with their peers, while also providing valuable respite to parents and carers during the holidays.
