Daisy Chain dedicated volunteer and former trustee Joan Douglas, 84, has been awarded a Housing 21 Star Award for her commitment and hard work over a lifetime.

Joan, of Cohen Court, Norton, has been volunteering for autism support charity Daisy Chain for since the charity began in 2003. And there’s still no stopping her as she continues to volunteer now at a young 84 years of age.

In addition to Daisy Chain, Joan also volunteers at her local church where she provides help and support for asylum seekers and is a huge part of the Ladies Group.

Joan has also worked tirelessly in the garden at Housing 21’s Cohen Court, and is responsible for an amazing 20 beautiful planters entered into the In Bloom competition this year.

To celebrate Joan’s huge heart and huge achievements, Housing 21 has decided to give something back. This festive season the team at H21 North 1 will be supporting Daisy Chain by taking part in the Wear it Festive campaign.

The team will be encouraging staff and residents to get involved by wearing their favourite festive clothing in the week beginning 16th December and making a donation to Daisy Chain.
