Albert Dicken – Patron

Albert ran his own business employing up to 1000 people with a turnover of £60m, which operated from 5 megastores throughout the North East, eventually selling to B&Q in 1999.

Founding his own charitable trust in 1977 he has been involved in numerous charitable organisations including the Butterwick Hospice where he served as Chair of Trustees for almost 15 years; he spearheaded the development of a purpose built 10 bed hospice, day care centre and children’s hospice.

He was fundamental in the development of a local church starting with 8 people and growing to a 100 seater purpose built church and conference centre. In recent years Albert has founded the Tees Valley Christian Forum comprising of 80 faith based charities working in all sectors of the community.
