What We Do For Children and Young People Short break sessions After school social clubs For children with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, Daisy Chain runs a number of social groups and youth clubs for young people aged 5-17, to cater for differing ages and needs. Some sessions are highly structured and have a high staff to child ratio. They provide opportunities for interactions between young people with an ASD, and friendships are encouraged. Staff will support the young people to make choices using visual aids and facilitate interactions to develop their social skills. Other sessions are less structured and are more suitable for young people who require less support. Places are limited and young people must have a diagnosis of an ASD. If you would like more information or to find out which club would be most suitable for your child, contact our Care Team. Holiday clubs We have several clubs providing short breaks for various age ranges throughout the school holidays. These include a 3-7 holiday club, 8-11 holiday club and a "Chill Club" for young people aged 12-17. Activities at the clubs include Wii, computers, animals, cooking, crafts and games. Each session is limited to 20 children or young people. An autism diagnosis is essential in order to access our holiday clubs, and completed care plans and risk assessments will be required prior to attending. Sessions must be booked in advance - for further details and information on costs and availability, contact the Care Team.
