Salary: £18,346 per annum

Job brief

The Assistant Manager is a key role in ensuring the Superstore operates in a smooth and efficient manner to maximise income and customer satisfaction. You will be the first point of contact for customers calling to arrange collections and deliveries of donations and will operate an efficient booking and route planning system for the warehouse and van drivers. The post holder will be central to providing improving the customer experience and quality of donations made to the superstore.

You will also carry out daily admin duties such as till reconciliation and banking procedures as well as deputising for the store manager as required.

Key Tasks

  • Cash handling, float management, till reconciliation daily and shop banking.
  • Administer and input gift aid forms and claims onto the system
  • Oversee till operations inclusive of gift aid and stock management checks
  • Provide high quality customer service skills when dealing with customers
  • Act as cover for Shop Managers during absence e.g. Annual leave, sickness and rota days off
  • Implement and manage an efficient collections and deliveries system by liaising with customers, shop managers and van drivers
  • Plan and prepare daily van routes to ensure time and cost effectiveness
  • Answer the phone during peak times to help manage the flow of donations, collections and deliveries
  • Play a key role in developing our donation station procedures to improve quality of stock, reduce unsuitable donations and increase amount of gift aiders.
  • Engage regularly with customers during donation process to reject unsuitable items whilst preventing donor disengagement.
  • Ensure the store has adequate levels of disposables across the store and distribution inclusive of placing orders
  • Maintain excellent levels of communication with the Superstore teams
  • IT work required by the store
