The Understanding Myself programme has been developed by Daisy Chain as part of the Autism in Schools Project which is a national initiative. It has been piloted and adapted in co-production with neurodiverse young people and is underpinned by numerous psychological theories and practices.

The aims of the intervention is to increase self-awareness; help others understand the needs of the young people and their unique experiences of the world; improve self-esteem and raise confidence.

In addition to directly delivering this workshop to young people we also offer a “Train the Trainer” package designed to support education practitioners to deliver it in their own settings. This training has been delivered to local authority areas across the country, including Portsmouth, Southampton, North East, Lincolnshire, North Cumbria and London as part of the national roll-out of the Autism in Schools Project which aims to support schools to provide positive environments for autistic children.

This can be delivered face-to-face at our centre; in your own work place or virtually. At this current time, this training is only available to young people within schools settings.

What schools have said about our training . . .

“It was excellent training and I can’t wait to start using it with the young people at my school. Thank you.”
